Greg Berning named Assistant Technical Director
December 13, 2005 - Classics Hammer FC is proud to announce the hire of Greg Berning as its Assistant Technical Director.

Coach Berning has spent the past 12 years as a member of Cardinal Soccer Club, the last three as an Assistant Director of Coaching with the primary responsibility of overseeing training for the U9 through U11 age groups. Greg has also served as the Director of Goalkeeping for Cardinal Soccer Club and Team Cincinnati and spent five years as the head men's varsity coach at Mc Nicholas High School.

Coach Berning has earned both the United States Soccer Federation "B" and "National Youth" Licenses and National Soccer Coaches Association of America "Goalkeeper II" Diploma.

Meaghan FitzGerald named 2005 NSCAA/adidas Girls' Youth All-American
December 13, 2005 - Meaghan FitzGerald was named as one of 84 players in US Youth Soccer on 2005 NSCAA/adidas Girls Youth All-American Team.

Meaghan is currently a center back on the U17 Classics Hammer FC Premier teams coached by Maria Jimenez-Veeneman and trained by Clay Revis, Girls' Associate Director of Coaching. She has been a member of Classics Hammer FC for nine years. In addition, she has been on the US Youth Soccer Olympic Development Region II Team for the past two years.

Meaghan has verbally commited to attend Duke University in Fall 2007.

 

Youth Development Academy draws 121 players
October 8, 2005 - Fall 2005 was the first season for the Youth Development Academy. The response was overwhelming with 121 players in the U7-U9 age groups.

The Academy Program was led by Mike Cullina, Technical Director and Thom Nickley, Player Development Coordinator. The entire coaching staff consisted of paid-professional staff from Classics Hammer FC. At least 30 minutes were dedicated to 4v4 play at each of the four Friday night 90-minute sessions utilizing a curriculum aimed at skill development.
