U-14 Premier Girls team won 2008 CASL shootout in Raleigh North Carolina.this past weekend. With a guest appearence from our very own Erin Mikula, who plays for North Carolina Tarheels, former player of the classics, helped coach our girls in the past, to Cheer them on! The girls were not going to disappoint her they came from behind in the first game 2-0 in the second half to win 3-2. Won in semi's in a shootout with some great saves from our awesome goalie, Ali. Won in finals 2-0,with great effort from all the girls playing as a TEAM!!! Way to go girls! CLASSICS HAMMER FC BRINGS HOME TITLES FROM FALL BALL Over two weekends Classics Hammer FC teams played some great soccer and had a lot of fun at the 2008 Fall Ball Tournament. At the girls weekend CHFC saw no less than five teams get to the finals.The 10 Premier girls came back from two goals down to win in double overtime while the 13 Elite girls were perfect from the penalty spot to take the title after penalty kicks.Our 14 Elite girls,coached by Lindsey Niehaus, showed class and composure to get a comfortable win in the final. The 10 Elite girls and 12 Academy girls, in their first final, both fell a goal short but played great soccer all weekend. The boys Fall Ball weekend gave CHFC four champions.The 9 Elite boys cruised through the field on the way to their first title while the 10 Elite boys ,in the match of the weekend, had to win it in double overtime to collect their second trophy of the season. The 12 and 13 Premier boys both took first place in the gold division while playing with remarkable skill. Congratulations to all the CHFC teams on two great weekends. Classics Hammer F.C. Have Successful Start At Dog Days Classics Hammer started the Fall season off right by sending six teams to the finals of the CSA dog Days Tournament. The U9 Elite boys, led by the Coaches Clark, made it to the final in the first ever event before falling to a strong Force team. The U10 Boys Elite ran riot all the way to the Championship while only conceding 2 goals in four matches. The U11 Boys Elite and the U12 Boys Elite both started the season with a Dog Days Championship Trophy and showed a lot of improvement under Coaches Hernandez and Coach Dill. The U13 Boys Premier took the challenge of playing in the U14 Gold Division and went 3-0 in group play before falling a goal short in double overtime in the final. Coach Cummings U10 Premier Girls won their third group match to earn their spot in the final where they faced their old rival CSA and fell in the last minutes 1-0 Congratulations to all the Teams who had very positive starts to the Fall 2008 Season!! Boys Girls Strong Showing at MEAD Cup We would like to thank the U14 Premier Girls for bringing home the title from the MEAD Cup in the U14 Gold Division. The girls went to overtime with CSA Elite before getting goals in both overtime periods to get the 2-0 win for the championship. Congratulations to Coach Revis, Coach Niehaus and the girls. Coach Casagrande’s U12 Elite girls, in their first event, went on to the finals before falling 3-1 to PASA. The girls went 4-0-0 en route to the final and played some very exciting soccer! Classics Hammer F.C. also had to teams who fell short in the semi finals. The U12 Premier boys, playing some of the best soccer at MEAD Cup, navigated a tough group with three wins before falling short in the semi-finals. The U13 Premier girls repeated last years MEAD Cup success by making it into the semi- finals before falling in penalty kicks to the eventual Champions Novi Jaguars. Congratulations on another great weekend for Classics Hammer F.C.! During the last two weekends in April, the Classics Hammer FC hosted the adidas Blue Chip Showcase Tournament at Clear Creek park in Cincinnati, Ohio. The tournament, featuring elite Men and Women teams from around the country and Canada, is one of the premier college showcase recruiting events in the country. 300+ college coaches attended the tournament over both weekends and the Classics Hammer FC received numerous compliments from the coaches, and participating teams, regarding the quality of the event and the great effort put forth by the Showcase organizers and support staff. There were also some key media personnel in attendance at both events, including Mr. Robert Ziegler of Top Drawer Soccer.com. July 23, 2008 - The Classics Hammer FC is pleased to name Stephen Hauter as the new Boys Director of Coaching (U14-U18) succeeding Greg Berning who we are pleased to announce as are Director of Goalkeeping.
“Stephen Hauter is an individual of incredible character; He has a tireless work rate, is extremely detail oriented & very well organized. His addition to the Classics Hammer staff can only be seen as a positive and a tremendous achievement for the club to add someone of Stephen's pedigree.
Coach Hauter currently holds a U.S.S.F. “A” License, a “National Youth” License and is on the Regional Staff for ODP. Stephen has significant Olympic Development (ODP) experience both in Illinois as a State Staff Coach and Boys Director of ODP and in Ohio where he has been named as the Director of Cincinnati District ODP and has coached state teams in Ohio for the last 3 years. Finally, Stephen has coached eight players who have gone on to play professional soccer. Additionally, Stephen will serve as the Club’s Operations Manager and Men’s College Coach Coordinator. Please give Stephen a warm Classics Hammer welcome when you seen him around the training complex. Coach Berning is obviously no stranger to Classics Hammer FC. Coach Berning came to Classics Hammer FC in January 2006 after spending 12 years with Cardinal Soccer Club, where he served as an Assistant Director of Coaching and Director of Goalkeeping. Greg came to Classics Hammer FC as the Asst Technical Director and Goalkeeper Academy Director. In September of 2007, Greg took over the role of Boys Director of Coaching. Although Coach Berning performed well in his role as Boys Director of Coaching, Greg’s heart and passions still remained between the posts. We are pleased to announce Greg Berning as Classics Hammer FC Director of Goalkeeping. Goalkeeping is a critical skill area and Greg has a proven track record in developing successful keepers as evidenced by the fact that his keepers have received five National Goalkeeper MVP awards. Greg also holds a USSF “B” License as well as a “National Youth” License. Additionally, Greg will continue to coach within the Boys program as well as remain as the Director of our Youth Tournaments. Please congratulate Greg on his new role with the Club.

With more than 19 years of coaching experience across all ages and genders, Coach Bronowski is the perfect choice. He holds the US Youth Soccer A license, the NSCAA Premier Diploma, the NSCAA Goalkeeper Level 1 Diploma, and the US Youth Soccer National Youth License. These credentials make him the most highly licensed staff member in the Club’s history. For the last six years, Coach Bronowski has served as DOC for the Classics FC (Olentangy Youth Athletic Association) in Columbus. In that role, he managed both the Boys and Girls select and recreational programs, overseeing programs for more than 3000 players. More importantly, Coach Bronowski has significant ODP experience, including State Team coaching experience and Director of the Columbus Asked about Brian, Brett Thompson (Director of Coaching for Ohio South), had this to say: "Brian Bronowski has been part of Ohio South's State ODP Staff, Coaching Education Staff as well as the Director for the Columbus District for the last 10 years. Brian is also the Region 2 ODP staff as well as the 1996 Development camp Head Coach. These accomplishments speak volumes of his ability and his respect in the soccer community". Ken White, of Bowling Green Mens Soccer, had this to say: "Brian Bronowski is an individual of sterling character and dedication. He has a superb understanding of the youth game, is a tireless worker, and always puts the players best interest first. He is a first class individual".Coach Bronowski is already working with the staff to begin transition plans, and will be with the Club full time by May. CLASSICS HAMMER 2008 WOMEN'S COLLEGE SOCCER CLASS February 10, 2008 - The Classics Hammer FC is pleased to announce their women’s college class of 2008. 17 Classics Hammer players are currently committed to continue their playing careers at the collegiate level, with 14 attending NCAA Division I institutions. Leading the way in the class of 2008 are Kiondra McGee and Caitlin Beck, both of whom were named NSCAA All-Americans and will play their collegiate soccer at University of Kentucky and University of Louisville respectively.
