About Classics Hammer FC
The Classics Hammer FC is a non-profit organization affiliated with Ohio South Youth Soccer Association through its participation in the Cincinnati United Soccer League (CUSL), the Midwest Regional League (MRL), and Buckeye/MOSSL Premier League (BPL). Ohio South Youth Soccer lies within the boundaries of Region 2 and is a member of US Youth Soccer, the world largest youth sports organization in the world. US Youth Soccer is the largest affiliate of US Soccer, a member of FIFA, the governing body of world soccer.

The Classics Hammer FC organization has long been a soccer pioneer in Cincinnati. We were the first to introduce paid, professional coaches to work with our players. We were also the first Club to hire a Director of Coaching and the first Club to develop a structured training curriculum for our players and teams. CHFC is the first and only club in Cincinnati to have a full-time Director of Goalkeeping. Per our bylaws, all coaches in Classics Hammer FC are paid-professional staff, none are parent coaches.

CHFC is funded primarily by player fees supplemented by fund raising, including income from the men's and women's adidas Blue Chip Showcase.

Building Blocks - The Foundation for Future Success
Started in Fall 2005, The Youth Development Academy was a natural progression from our fall U8clinics and U9/U10 training methods.
It is the foundation of Classics Hammer FC with a curriculum aimed at instilling a "Passion for the Game" and developing each child's technical, psychomotor and psycho-social skills.

All training is based on instilling a foundation of technical proficiency for future successes. We place a high priority on teaching players dribbling moves to beat a defender, completing passes, and receiving the ball with direction and deception.

U7-U8 Academy
Classics Hammer FC does not form teams at U7; however, many of our players do participate inlocal rec leagues. At this age, the Youth Development Academy is not meant as an alternative to recreational soccer, rather it is meant to compliment the local leagues by providing a higher standard of training by our professional staff coaches to prepare players for select soccer without the pressures associated with select soccer at such a young age.

U8 players not yet wanting to join Classics Hammer FC teams may also join this program.

The Academy will meet once a week for six weeks. Each 90-minute session will consist of an hour of instruction and 30 minutes of 4v4 play. Every fourth session is designated as "game day" where, after a skills warm-up, teams will be arbitrarily formed for play.

The curriculum focuses on skill development using small-sided games of 1v1 and 2v2. Each player will have hundreds of ball touches every session.

U8 Academy
Classics Hammer FC will field an age group at this age. Registration for the U8 teams' program is open. On game day, the coaching staff will formulate rosters for each game. Every player in the program will play in the same number of games during the season. provides two programs for U8 players. All training will be done in the Academy curriculum-based format as explained above.

Under the leadership of the Youth Development Academy Director, coaches will be selected to work with various teams and both gender at U8 to provide each player and team a consistent level of programming and development. The curriculum focuses on skill development- dribbling and ball striking- exclusively using small-sided games of 1v1 and 2v2. Each player will have hundreds of ball touches every session.

In Spring 2006, our teams will participate in the CUSL 4v4 League.

U9 Academy
Classics Hammer FC will conduct tryouts to form its U9 teams. We endeavor to form three boys' and three girls' teams of 12 players each. All training will be done in the Academy curriculum-based format as explained above with teams participating in CUSL.

In the academy format, teams and players will work with the entire staff in training; however, team coaches will be assigned to a specific team for league play.

The curriculum focuses on skill development- dribbling, ball striking, and receiving- and very limited tactical play, including support play using small-sided games of 2v1 in addition to those listed above.

Classics Hammer FC competes in CUSL at U9.

U10 Academy
Classics Hammer FC, will conduct tryouts to form its U10 teams. We endeavor to form three boys' and three girls' teams of 12 players each.

At the U10 age group, teams will be trained once per week in the Academy format and once per week with their team and team coach.

The curriculum includes skill development- adding tackling to the above list and tactics- team shape, simple combinations, and pressuring defender using small-sided games of 1v2 and 3v3 in addition to those listed above.

Classics Hammer FC competes in CUSL at U10.

Youth Development Academy
Started in Fall 2005, The Youth Development Academy was a natural progression from our fall U8 clinics and U9/U10 training methods. Players that participate in the YDA are encouraged to participate with their community or school-based rec programs and join us for one day/week of training.

Teams are not formed in the YDA; however, CHFC works with our friends in soccer to offer 4v4 festivals several times during the season.

The YDA is overseen by the Technical Director.

U9-U12 Junior Academy
The U9-U12 Junior Academy is the foundation of Classics Hammer FC with a curriculum aimed at instilling a "Passion for the Game" and developing each child's technical, psychomotor and psycho-social skills.

Training is based on instilling a foundation of technical proficiency for future successes. While a majority of training still emphasizes skill development, at the U11 & U12 age groups small group tactical concepts become part of the curriculum.

Players will be exposed to various positions at this age group and all teams will play using zonal principles along the backline.

While Classics Hammer FC has a proven record of tournament and league success, our goal in these age groups are long-term. Our decisions related to player development are directly affect by this goal.

The U9-U12 PDP is overseen by the Director of Coaching-Youth.

U13 to U18 Senior Academy
The Senior Academy is focused on preparing players for high school, college, ODP and beyond. While training continues to be our number one priority, we believe that competition is a vital component player development. To that end, all league and tournament play is determined by how it helps us reach our goals of player development and collegiate exposure.

Developing the athlete becomes an integral part of the individual player development process. Through out partnership with Ignition Athletic Performance Group, we provide each player the opportunity to development their soccer-related speed and conditioning.

Winning and the pursuit of State, Regional, and National Championships is much more important at these age groups.

The Senior Academy is overseen by the respective Director of Coaching-Boys/Girls.
