Another successful adidas Blue Chip Showcase!

April 28, 2008- Over the past two weekends, the Classics Hammer FC hosted the adidas Blue Chip Showcase Tournament at Clear Creek park in Cincinnati, Ohio. The tournament, featuring elite Men and Women teams from around the country and Canada, is one of the premier college showcase recruiting events in the country.

300+ college coaches attended the tournament over both weekends and the Classics Hammer FC received numerous compliments from the coaches, and participating teams, regarding the quality of the event and the great effort put forth by the Showcase organizers and support staff.

There were also some key media personnel in attendance at both events, including Mr. Robert Ziegler of Top Drawer Soccer.com. Mr. Ziegler, who attended the Men's weekend Showcase, shared his thoughts on the Top Drawer web site and you can read his article by, clicking here.

We'd like to extend a special thanks to our various sponsors, whose commitment to youth soccer ensures a bright future for this great sport. adidas, Chiquita, Cincinnati Bell, TriHealth, Soccer Village, Wallbangers, Holiday Inn and Embassy Suites provided unparalleled support to the Classics Hammer FC and your assistance was greatly appreciated.

The Classics Hammer FC is proud to host the adidas Blue Chip Showcase Tournament and we'd like to thank all the personnel who continue to make this one of the top college recruiting events in the country for youth soccer. Countless hours go into the planning and execution of this tournament and we'd like to express our sincere thanks to everyone on the organizing committee, and especially to all our volunteers, for making the adidas Blue Chip Showcase one of the best tournaments in the country.

Brian Bronowski Named as New Technical Director
March 7, 2008 - The Classics Hammer FC is pleased to name Brian Bronowski as new Technical Director.

With more than 19 years of coaching experience across all ages and genders, Coach Bronowski is the perfect choice. He holds the US Youth Soccer A license, the NSCAA Premier Diploma, the NSCAA Goalkeeper Level 1 Diploma, and the US Youth Soccer National Youth License. These credentials make him the most highly licensed staff member in the Club’s history.

For the last six years, Coach Bronowski has served as DOC for the Classics FC (Olentangy Youth Athletic Association) in Columbus. In that role, he managed both the Boys and Girls select and recreational programs, overseeing programs for more than 3000 players. More importantly, Coach Bronowski has significant ODP experience, including State Team coaching experience and Director of the Columbus
District. He has collegiate experience as Assistant Men’s Coach at William & Mary and professional experience as Assistant Coach and Director of Youth Soccer for the Virginia Beach Mariners.

Asked about Brian, Brett Thompson (Director of Coaching for Ohio South), had this to say:

"Brian Bronowski has been part of Ohio South's State ODP Staff, Coaching Education Staff as well as the Director for the Columbus District for the last 10 years. Brian is also the Region 2 ODP staff as well as the 1996 Development camp Head Coach. These accomplishments speak volumes of his ability and his respect in the soccer community".

Ken White, of Bowling Green Mens Soccer, had this to say:

"Brian Bronowski is an individual of sterling character and dedication. He has a superb understanding of the youth game, is a tireless worker, and always puts the players best interest first. He is a first class individual".

Coach Bronowski is already working with the staff to begin transition plans, and will be with the Club full time by May. He will be with the Club for the Blue Chip Hammer Cup and the Blue Chip Showcase.
